Chevalier Lovett (he/him, they/them) is the Founder & President of Lovett Performance & Strategies, a consulting firm that partners with nonprofits, small businesses, and mid-to-large organizations to strengthen performance, align strategy, and scale impact. Through a comprehensive approach to organizational development, the firm specializes in marketing & communications, community engagement, social impact, resource development, talent & equity, operations, and government relations & advocacy.
Born and raised on the historic West Side of Winter Park, Florida, Chevalier brings more than 15 years of executive leadership experience across local and national nonprofit organizations. His career includes leadership/senior roles with the YMCA of Central Florida, the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast, and City Year, Inc. He has also served as Chief Operating Officer of Florida Rising and Chief Impact & Advocacy Officer at 26Health, where he led large-scale strategic initiatives, organizational transformation, and community-centered impact efforts.
A first-generation college graduate, Chevalier has pursued academic studies at several notable institutions and is a proud graduate of Orange County Public Schools.
Deeply committed to civic leadership, Chevalier has served on more than two dozen local, state, and national boards and committees. His current and recent service includes the Contigo Fund, Hope CommUnity Center, Chair of the Nominating Board for the City of Orlando, the Board of Trustees for the Winter Park Library, Executive Board Member and Community Engagement Vice Chair for Habitat for Humanity of Orlando & Greater Osceola County, Poverty Solutions Group, Leadership Winter Park, the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, Opera America’s Racial Justice National Committee, Opera America’s National Trustees Committee, and as a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts. In 2025, he was appointed to serve on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Committee.
In recognition of his service to the community, he was named 2020’s Most Influential by Winter Park Magazine. He was also named as a finalist in the Best of 2021, Best of 2022, and Best of 2024 in several categories with Orlando Weekly’s annual recognition awards (Best Local Big Shot Who’s Not An Elected Official, Best Local Leader During the Pandemic, and Best Local Influencer). In 2023, he was named the Diversity Game Changer by the Orlando Magic & Florida Blue. Chevalier was recognized by the Orlando Business Journal in 2024 as a 40-Under-40 leader, and he was honored as the 2024 Most Remarkable by Watermark Magazine.
Grounded in a deep commitment to equity and justice, Chevalier views his work as a calling to advocate alongside underserved communities, particularly those from low-income backgrounds, LGBTQIA+ communities, youth, and emerging leaders. He is a sought-after facilitator and speaker, known for guiding organizations through complex conversations and building strategies that center people, culture, and long-term impact.
Outside of his professional work, Chevalier is an accomplished musician and active conductor, collaborative pianist, and vocalist. He performs in classical spaces across the East Coast and serves as the Contemporary Worship Director at First United Methodist Church of Winter Park. He lives in Central Florida with his family and his twin sons.
